ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION
Assessment for the programme is formative. You simply carry out the activities described here within three months of enrolment. The main expectations are as follows:
- You will be assigned a course mentor.
- You carry out a reflective discussion with your course mentor.
- You submit a Professional Learning Plan (PLP) to your course mentor at the end of the course.
- You complete a Reflective Journal, with a critical reflection of what you have learned and its relevance to work you are engaged in.
Because of the diverse range of participants with respect to their CLD backgrounds and prior qualifications, no formal SCQF levels has been set for this programme. Nevertheless everything you do is stored in your personal profile and counts as 15 hours towards your annual professional learning requirement.

Support from your Course Mentor
The role of your course mentor is to support you during your engagement with programme and provide you with feedback on the submissions you make. You will be allocated a course mentor and given their contact details and you should get in touch with your mentor when you start the programme. The course mentor is there to support and guide you through the programme and complement your existing professional development support network such as peer mentors, supervisors and managers.
Building your Portfolio
i-develop has an e-portfolio where you can save your work, share with colleagues and other members of the CLD Standards Council, import and export information and even keep a note of your CV.
You are encouraged to save your programme submissions to your private portfolio using the 'export to portfolio' link. This is yours to view on i-develop at any time. From the portfolio folder you can also choose someone to share your reflective journal with. This can be a colleague, a former lecturer, a supervisor - anyone you choose that is a member of the CLD Standards Council. This is a good way to build your community of practice, or contribute to an existing one as you progress beyond the induction.
