• Unit 1 Induction

    OVERVIEW OF UNIT 1:

The CLDSC, its vision, values, code of ethics and functions (5 Hours)

Unit 1 looks at the CLDSC and its purpose, values and structure in supporting the development of professional standards for CLD practitioners in Scotland with a particular focus on the Competent Practitioner Framework. The unit also explores the requirements and responsibilities of being a member of the CLDSC and its benefits.

Members of the CLDSC say that it makes them feel part of something, they can get support from other practitioners, they share ideas with fellow workers and volunteers and they feel valued as a CLD practitioner.

In unit 1 there are two main activities to complete and one optional reflective activity.

1.1 An Introduction to the CLD Standards Council

    1.2 Becoming a Competent Practitioner

    1.3 Reflection on learning

To assist with this activity you can read the CLDSC Governance and the Competent Practitioner Framework as background reading. You are welcome to save the Framework document or download it to your personal or work device and you can save it to your i-develop portfolio. However, all of the information you require is contained in the slides and questions as you work through.
