We invite you to join us for an international summit celebrating digital youth work and exploring the role of youth work in the digital age.

How is the digital revolution impacting on youth work practice? Youth work has a critical role to play in helping young people to navigate and be empowered within the digital aspects of their lives. New technology also gives exciting opportunities to enhance our youth work practice, to engage young people and their creativity and amplify their voices in different ways.

YouthLink Scotland has teamed up with expert partners across Europe for a two year Erasmus+ funded Digital Youth Work Project with the aim of exploring these questions and developing digital youth work through sharing good practice, building capacity in the sector and raising the profile of and support for digital youth work.

This project finale event will be the launch of the European Guidelines for Digital Youth Work and the full Good Practice Collection of short films.

We will be showcasing a broad range of innovative practice and you will hear from young people and practitioners about their experiences. A fantastic selection of speakers and facilitators will be joining us from across Europe, inviting you to share your views and explore your role in cementing youth work of the future (and the present).

The project partners are wienXtra Medienzentrum, Austria; Centre for Digital Paedagogik, Denmark; Verke, Finland; JFF - Jugend Film Fernsehen, Germany; Camara Ireland; National Youth Council of Ireland; YouthLink Scotland.

Who is it for?

  • Paid and volunteer youth workers
  • Youth work managers
  • Academics
  • Policy Makers
  • Funders
  • Anyone with an interest in youth work in the digital age. Not just for techies! You don’t need to have a technical expertise or experience to participate.

How do I get there?

The event is in Glasgow city centre. You will be sent the venue details on confirmation of booking. The venue is very near Glasgow Central train station, and near the stop for the bus from Glasgow Airport. There is also a bus to Glasgow from Edinburgh Airport should flights to Edinburgh prove easier from your location.

This is a free event

This event is free to attend, thanks to funding from Erasmus+.

Travel subsidies

We can offer a limited number of travel subsidies of up to €150 for delegates from outside the UK. Applications for travel subsidy can be made before 9th August 2019 (2nd round available). We will give preference to charities, non-profits and smaller organisations in allocating the subsidy.
