In unit one we asked you to explore why we need to reflect on practice. In this unit we want you to think a bit more about reflective writing.
NOTE: It is helpful to keep a note or journal on your learning as you progress. This will be useful to return to in unit 3 when you are writing a reflective journal entry to be viewed and reviewed by your Course Mentor.
You can also save a copy in your i-develop e-portfolio if you would like access to it when this course is completed.
Action 1
You should now read this article by Jenny Moon(PDF)
- In the article by Jenny Moon she explains that reflective writing has unexpected benefits by sorting out the thoughts in our heads, solving problems and working out what we need to learn and do next.
Action 2
Once you have read the article complete the following task:
- Identify a situation in your CLD role where reflective writing, such as a diary or journal would be helpful to you
- Using the questions suggested by Moon, what ones would be useful for you to reflect on?
Action 3
To submit your journal click on the 'Add Submission' button below. You can then type straight into the box provided or upload something you have prepared offline, or press the record button if you'd prefer to make an audio or video recording.
Remember you can also save to your i-develop e-portfolio if you would like access to it when this course is completed. You can find your e-portfolio in My CPD at the top right of your screen.
